Habyt launches new flexible living space in Tanjong Pagar

The adaptable space is located within a maintained 1920s colonial building. The three-storey building, created by the architectural company Swan & Maclaren, was among the oldest modernist buildings in Singapore. It was built to house the St Andrew’s Mission Hospital for Women and Children.

Locals of Kada at Maxwell will enjoy unlimited and courtesy access to the property’s health and wellness facilities, including the performance health club, cold plunge, infrared saunas, jacuzzis and foot baths.

A public tender to lease the real estate, now handled by the Singapore Land Authority (SLA), was released in September 2023. The tender was evaluated based upon the bid price and the top quality of the proposed concept, and SLA encouraged prospective buyers to think about creative way of life principles.

“By blending modern conveniences with the timeless charm of a heritage building, we’re offering guests a special lifestyle experience that goes beyond typical lodging,” includes Wong.

Wong states Habyt Kada at Maxwell speaks for the company’s dedication to redefining versatile living in Singapore and notes its shift towards the next phase of growth for Habyt Asia Pacific. Room rates at Kada at Maxwell will begin at $180 per night.

Kada at Maxwell will use a variety of spaces, including en suite studios and 2- to three-bedroom units. Each unit has a completely equipped kitchenette. Guests can book rooms on a nightly or weekly basis, with a 12-month selection even readily available.

Novo Place condo

Habyt has already launched a brand-new accomodation space at 5 Kadayanallur Street in Tanjong Pagar. The 18-room Kada at Maxwell is the flagship place for the operator’s Habyt Flex approach, which offers a strategic growing of the company’s product offerings past long-term co-living.

The site was awarded to Bethesda Medical, that submitted a monthly rental proposal of $103,000, the third-highest quote cost after Wan Dormitory ($160,000) and The Working Capitol ($108,240).

In August, Habyt Asia Pacific CEO Jonathan Wong indicated that the company was trying to include more short living options to its local listing. The first properties under the Habyt Flex concept are the 39-room Habyt Novena and the 27-room Habyt Kallang, both started in August. Other properties under the Habyt Flex concept include Habyt Cantonment and Owen House by Habyt.

SLA mentioned Bethesda’s strong emphasis on neighborhood structure and connecting people with businesses as what gave its strategy the winning edge. The first level is going to include 10 F&B offerings, whilst the 2nd ground will house a gym by Limitless, a wellness center in partnership with Shiruki Studio, and a co-working room. Habyt’s Kada at Maxwell gets on the 3rd floor.
